Dead Pixel Test with *#0*#
All Galaxy S-series phones support the diagnostic code. Open the Phone app, dial *#0*# — the diagnostic menu opens. Tap each colour and inspect for defects. The S-Pen on Ultra models can be used to pinpoint a pixel precisely during the test.
Samsung Warranty for Galaxy S Dead Pixels
Samsung's 1-year warranty covers manufacturing defect dead pixels. The official minimum is 3 dead pixels for Super AMOLED — but in practice, a single dead pixel reported early (within 14 days: go to the retailer; within 30 days: contact Samsung directly) is often resolved with a replacement.
Dead pixel on new phone (S24 Ultra, S25 Ultra): contact Samsung Support at samsung.com/support and submit a warranty claim with photos. Samsung typically responds within 2–3 business days.
S25 Ultra / S24 Ultra Dead Pixel — Specific Notes
Ultra models have the highest pixel density in the S lineup (500–505 ppi). Community reports from r/samsung indicate dead pixel clusters are occasionally reported near screen corners on Ultra models. Samsung has replaced devices for S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra owners with a single dead pixel when reported within the first month.
